DKIM

What is DKIM?

DKIM stands for DomainKeys Identified Mail and represents a digital signature attached to an email which allows the receiving server to verify its authenticity and protect an organization’s domain against spoofing attacks.

Spoofing is an email scam technique used by cybercriminals that display a familiar email sender name to the recipients, disguising themselves as a trusted source.

Why is DKIM important?

DKIM allows organizations to protect their customers as well as employees from cyber attacks, improves email deliverability, and keeps email lists healthy, preventing emails from being marked as spam. DKIM is in fact the foundation for email security of a domain and can survive forwarding, unlike Sender Policy Framework (SPF), which is also used to authenticate an email sender.
