A/B TestingWhat is A/B Testing?
How does A/B testing work?
The two versions (the original version - A and the variation - B) are sent to different audience segments. The performance of both versions is then compared based on a previously set goal (e.g. the percentage of people who open a newsletter campaign, click on a link, make a purchase, etc). The winning version is then sent to the rest of the audience, to maximize the end result.
Why is A/B testing important?
When you are trying to grow your business, spotting the marketing strategy which resonates with your audience can be difficult. A/B testing enables you to automatically detect the mix of elements that have the greatest impact on your target as your audience and their preferences or interests develop.
What’s more, A/B testing is an inexpensive way to make the most of your time and budget. You don’t need to spend hours rethinking a campaign or double your investment. A/B testing allows you to get the most out of your efforts since even minor changes can have a significant impact on your results.
What does A/B testing work on?
Relatively anything can be evaluated and optimized through A/B testing, such as:
- Campaign content (banners, text, products, special offers, number and types of images, etc.)
- Subject lines
- Calls-to-action
- Email sending times
