Banner

What is a Banner?

In the digital context, a banner refers to either a rectangular or square advertisement, which you can usually find on a website. It includes graphic components, such as images and text, as well as links that redirect the users to certain pages on the same website or to the advertiser’s website (e.g. if the banner is used in a newsletter or triggered email).

Why is a Banner important?

Banners are important because they represent visual elements that attract attention. You can place them anywhere on a website (in sidebars or above/ below the content blocks of the body) in order to highlight a particular product or service and create awareness using limited resources.
