Cart Page

What is a Cart Page?

In the eCommerce context, a shopping cart page is a crucial page of an online store, as it allows users to add the products they intend to purchase and place the order by going to the check-out page. Just like a brick-and-mortar store, in the online world, you have your own shopping cart where you can add whatever you intend to buy from that shop and go to the counter to finish the purchase.

How does a Cart Page work?

While browsing a website, users can add as many products as they want to their shopping cart. They can later access and modify the content of their carts if needed, just by clicking on the designated pictogram that redirects them to the cart page.

Once they have selected the desired products and quantities, they can finish the purchase by proceeding to the checkout page, where they input their personal information for delivery purposes and choose a payment method (either paying online or at delivery), in order to place the order.

After finishing this step, the customers will receive confirmation emails with the receipt and the status of their order, which they can continue monitoring until the delivery of the products is finalized.

Why is a Cart Page important?

The cart page is significant for an online store because it creates a seamless customer journey on your website and allows users to finish a purchase with multiple products, without having to pay individually for each of them.
