Click Map

What is a Click Map?

Also known as a heat map, a click map is a visual representation of all the areas a visitor has clicked on your website or newsletter. It is clearly displayed using different colors to communicate the areas that users interacted the most with (e.g. buttons, text, images, etc.). Generally, red areas are hot from the high level of user activity and blue areas are cold, meaning users clicked less on them.

Why are Click Maps important?

Tracking user activity via a click map helps you identify which parts of your website or newsletter are the most logical for the users to click on. You can use this information in order to optimize user experience by positioning the CTA (call to action) buttons and the other elements in all the right places, which have the highest probability to be seen and clicked on.
